Text message snoop? Study says beware
SYDNEY (Reuters Life!) - Can't help checking your partner's text messages on the sly? You're not alone, with an Australian survey showing one in three mobile phone users are text message snoops, and the consequences can often be heart-breaking.
The online survey, conducted for telecoms service provider Virgin Mobile Australia, shows that women are more likely than men to check their partner's phone in secret.
It also revealed that 73 percent of these sneaky text checkers have found out things they later wished they hadn't, and 10 percent ended their relationship because of SMS snooping.
As far as I am concerned text messages are no different than email, diaries, etc. It's personal correspondance, and you don't go reading it unless the owner gives you explicit permission to do so.
People: what is wrong with them?
I've noticed that often if someone who irritates me voices an opinion that I usually agree with, I will begin to question my view on the matter, and possibly even think up arguments against it. Presumably just out of spite. Man, I really am a dick sometimes.
Often when I am walking through the train station, someone will come running past me, presumably in a hurry to get to some big important happening, and I have the urge to either elbow them in the face or trip them. Does that make me an asshole?
Probably. I don't really care though. People are stupid.
Bought some more CDs today: Deep Purple's Made in Japan (remastered edition) and Stevie Wonder's Talking Book. Awesome music represent.
Not that I had any doubt, since the vast majority of conspiracy theorists are basing their theories not on any scientific analysis, but on general observations of how they think things should work: "Well even though I am not a scientist or a structural engineer, I just can't imagine that the jet fuel would have burned hot enough to melt steel, so there must have been controlled demolitions. Conspiracy!"
Dubmasses.
Anyway, real scientists have solved the "mystery" of the WTC 7 collapse, and guess what? It was not intentionally demolished:

Ah yes. There always seems to be some vague "other evidence." I wish one of these geniuses could tell me what the hell purpose intentionally bringing down WTC 7 would have served in some hypothetical conspiracy. It collapsed seven hours after the other two towers came down. It must have been emptied of its occupants at that point, what with the fires and all.
Newsflash shitheads: The only 9/11 conspiracy is a conspiracy of incompetence. The US government is run by a bunch of boobs who probably wouldn't qualify to manage a McDonalds. No way they could have pulled this off and kept it a secret for 7 years.

The former Spice Girls singer was flying to London from Los Angeles with two of her children - five-year-old Romeo and three-year-old Cruz- when a bird flew into one of the plane's engines as it taxied down the runway.

Victoria and her sons were ferried back to the airport separately from the other passengers to give her time to change out of the flight pyjamas she was wearing.
The source added: "I was sitting a few rows back from Victoria and her sons, who were at the front of the plane. Victoria wasn't wearing any make-up and had changed into the pyjamas provided by the airline."
OMFG, no makeup! We have to get her off the plane ASAP so she can put her face on and get out of those jammies! Would this incident even have made the news if VB hadn't been on the flight? And why does she get "ferried back to the airport separately" so she can change out of her pyjamas? Lord forbid any of the common people see her in such a state. What a self-absorbed twat.
When I'm waiting at a pedestrian crossing and someone walks up and presses the button to trigger the signal repeatedly, as if the frequency and intensity with which one presses the button has any effect on how soon the signal will change.
Pushing the button as hard as you can over and over does NOT MAKE THE SIGNAL CHANGE FASTER YOU STUPID TWAT.
